On December 7th, Champion Energy employees volunteered at Kids’ Meals holiday party presenting families with gifts just in time for Christmas. Prior to the event, Champion Energy raised over $1,000 to purchase Toys R Us and Walmart gift cards with a bake sale and cookie contest.
Kids’ Meals Houston offers meals on wheels for pre-schoolers in Houston’s lower income neighborhoods. Each year, Kids’ Meals hosts a holiday party for the families they serve. There’s a DJ, a visit from Santa, food from Chick-fil-A and Shipley Donuts, free books from the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation, and gift cards for each family (donated by companies like Champion).
This further extends Champion’s company policy of allowing employees to take up to 2 paid hours monthly to volunteer at a non-profit organization. We believe that encouraging community involvement not only helps the community, it helps to build a spirit of camaraderie among employees.
You too can help the fight against hunger for as little as $10 to feed 5 children. Donate at http://bit.ly/1VZU7kC.
